The Story

The year is 198X

Deep in the back alleys and bayous of New Orleans, something is happening. People are disappearing without a trace. Whispers tell tales of witchcraft and monsters lurking in the dark. Enter a young woman with secrets of her own. She is looking to help a people under supernatural siege, but also find answers to her own mysteries.

Dara Pinkerton, aspiring private eye, has just opened the Dark Pink Detective Agency in the heart of the French Quarter. Despite her inexperience, she soon gets a case that changes everything.

The search for a missing woman leads Dara to a terrifying discovery…

Monsters. Are. Real.

Dara Pinkerton aka Dark Pink

21. Smart, earnest, and incredibly perceptive. Sometimes naïve, sometimes a bad@$$. A brash exterior mask her anxieties and self-doubts.

UK born, Dara is a recent transplant to New Orleans. She decides to become a private detective to earn money and learn the trade to help her find her parents who disappeared in the Big Easy a year prior.

Dara often gets in over her head and has to use her guile, a golden pistol and sword left to her by her mother, and her powerful golden mechanical arm made for her by her father, to save the day…and her own life.

The Crew

Tr3y - The Brains

23, Dara’s “intern”. Nola native, grad-student and inventor extraordinaire. Tr3y is the Q to Dara’s Bond…but cooler. A logical thinker, he has a hard time handling Dara’s leap first approach.

Lady Laveau - The Eyes

(Age Unknown) Tarot card reader whose shop is in the same building as Dara’s agency. Mysterious in her own right, she helps Dara learn more about her past, her family, and the mystical side of the city.

Frank - The Ears

35, Bartender at the most happening jazz spot in the Quarter. Street smart and well connected, he provides Dara with the word on the street.

The Monsters

In this fantastical version of New Orleans, the shadows dance with sinister intent.

From the depths of the bayous, swamp witches and nightmarish creatures arise. Within the labyrinth streets of the French Quarter, vampires and werewolves are on the prowl.

In the darkest corridors of the housing projects and abandoned buildings, man-made monstrosities are let loose upon the hood.

Monsters. Are. Real.

The Vibes

It’s the 1980’s, but with futuristic elements. Mysticism and superstition go hand-in-hand with steampunk inspired technology.

Second lines, house parties, jazz clubs, séances, the projects the bayous, and more. Dara will experience it all.
